Started in 1996, the League consisted of 7 H.S. clubs and 20 teams with 135 players. In the 2002-2003 season the league was made up of 18 High School clubs and 56 teams with 740 players.

At the end of the 1998 - 1999 season, the league's scholarship program began. The Scholarship is awarded to two Seniors based on Academic Achievement and Community Service. In 2000 it was renamed as  the 'William Orth Memorial Scholarship Award' for our departed colleague and friend. Bill was instrumental in getting this program off the ground and the H.S. League Board of Directors promises qualified candidates to continue this program in his memory.
