MERCY RULE

The High school Roller Hockey League of Long Island will be enforcing

the following MERCY RULE for the 2003-2004 Season.

There will be NO EXCEPTIONS.

After a ten-goal differential has been established during a game, the Referees and Game Official will inform both coaches that the game has finished. At this point the scoreboard will be cleared and the final results noted on the score sheet. The following options will then be presented to the coaches.

Only one of these options may be used.

(1) Play will continue with Referees for the remaining allotted time. No goals will be recorded on the score sheet or posted on the scoreboard.

(2) Teams will split the rink and use the remaining allotted time for practice.

(3) One and/or both teams may leave the rink.
