Responsibilities
of Game Officials
Game Official will fill out
the top sections of the score sheets for that day’s game using the Master
Schedule. The last Game Official must fax (using rink’s fax machine) all game
score sheets to 331-2459.
Both coaches MUST supply
typed team rosters (signed) to the Game Official before any team can enter the
rink. If a coach doesn’t have the properly prepared roster, not it on the game
score sheet and make a copy of the roster kept in the League Binder. After
the teams have entered the rink, give the rosters to the timekeeper.
The timekeeper can add players arriving late to the score sheet while the game
is in progress. Note: warnings will only be given until November 1st,
after which a 2- minute equipment penalty will be assessed for the 1st
offense. A 2nd offense will result in coach suspension.
Players can only play if they
are in their assigned numbered team and team matching, colored jerseys for the
day’s game.
Use attendance sheets from
the League Binder to check in players. Players are to be checked in as
they enter the rink. Ask each player his or her name and check it off.
Follow GAME FORMAT
regulations:
NO game will begin with fewer
than 4 skaters and a goalie to a team. If a team is unable to comply within 10 minutes
of the scheduled start time, then the game is deemed a forfeit and the points
are awarded to the other team present on the rink.
Two 22-minute halves –
running time. The clock will only stop during the last 2 minutes of the 2nd
half when the scores differ by 2 or less goals. Each team will only be allotted
one time out in regulation time.
In the event of a tie at the
end of regulation time, a 5-minute sudden death (running time) overtime will be
played. The winner of an overtime game will be awarded 2 points, the loser –
one point. If the score remains tied after the allotted time, a point will
be awarded to each team. No time-outs in overtime. If a coach calls a
time out in OT, a 2-minute delay of game penalty will be accessed and the
time-out will not be awarded.
The 10 GOAL MERCY RULE will
be used.
All players and coaches MUST
shake hands at the end of each game, unless the referee or Game Official deems
otherwise. Afterward, the winning team returns to their bench and the opponents
proceed to their locker room.
EQUIPMENT:
Jerseys: Each player, including
goalies, that does not have their proper, assigned “team color and
numbered” jersey, for that day’s game, will NOT play. Late arriving
players without their OWN proper assigned team jersey will not allowed
to be join the game.
Skates: In order to enter the rink,
each player must have the proper amount of wheels on his or her skate. If
wheel(s) are lost during play, the skater (goalies excluded) must leave the
rink and repair the skate in order to return to the game.
Mouthpieces: The use of mouthpieces is
optional for all players in all divisions. Players that use mouthpieces MUST
attach them to the face-cage.
Maintain acceptable behavior/language in the stands. Do NOT
stop any game in progress as a result of a complaint or protest from a parent
or spectator. When a problem arises, inform the individual(s) involved that
they need to bring it to the attention of their clubs GM. If the GM decides
that it needs to be addressed, the GM MUST present it IN WRITING
to the Board as per the By-Laws.
The Game Official will
communicate all suspension to the League Board. NEVER DISCUSS THE SITUATION
THAT NIGHT WITH PLAYERS, COACHES, OR FAMILY MEMBERS. The Board will then
advise the GM of its decision. It is then the responsibility of the GM to
inform his/her player and/or coach of the suspension length. Suspensions will
be posted on the website and at Rink Facilities.
Collect the “white” score
sheets and place them in the League Binder.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR EFFORTS.
